Welcome to Specialty Cabinet Finishes!
Bringing Outdated Kitchens Back to Life
We specialize in fine refinishing of cabinetry, painting kitchen cabinets to a factory finish, hardwood door refinishing, color matching, staining and repairing damaged wood. We regularly work on kitchen cabinets, islands, bathroom vanities, entry hardwood doors, and ornate hardwood of various types. Underlying surfaces are usually never a problem and we can usually find a solution. So whether you have wood cabinetry, metal, or vinyl, we can paint cabinets, doors, vanities, and kitchen islands.
If you have a new kitchen, old kitchen, or even just a kitchen design in mind we can help. We routinely work with kitchen remodels and new bare hardwood. However, most cabinetry and doors come pre-finished so the bulk of our business is repairing, fine refinishing, color matching, painting, and staining of pre-existing cabinetry, entry doors, bathroom vanities, and ornate kitchen wood work.

Hello,
I am Chris Voedisch and the owner of Specialty Cabinet Finishes. I take great pride in giving clients only the best finishes for their homes. Each and every client project I take on, I treat as if it were in my own home. You could say I am a perfectionist and won't leave a job until both myself and the client are completely satisfied with the result. Many companies out there will send in a questionable crew using questionable products and the owner of that company is no where around except to give an estimate and complete a final walk through. With Specialty Cabinet Finishes, I do all of the work from start to finish and will only have help with me for the prep work on larger jobs.
I routinely work with new and improved products in order to give clients a choice when it comes to the finish they choose. I strive to only use the best fine finishing products, most of which are shipped in on a per project basis. You will not find these products locally. Painters do not use these fine finishing products, are not familiar with using them, and/or lack the equipment to properly spray them. Anyone can slap a coat of paint or stain over cabinets, but what product is being used? How will it interact with your existing finish? How will each coat react to the other products being used? The most important question; when will the products fail?

Before - Failing clear coat on pickled oak cabinets.
Many home owners would agree that kitchens are the central part of most American homes and home owners update their kitchens in order to build their home equity, aid in selling their home, or updating their kitchen for personal enjoyment. All are viable reasons and Specialty Cabinet Finishes can give the home owner the look they want for a fraction of the new cabinet price. With the cost of buying and installing new cabinets, the home owner is looking at 3 to 6 times the cost and that's not including tearing out and disposing of the old cabinets. That is why re-coating is the answer for most home owners. Refacing is usually 2 to 4 times more expensive.
